ERIN - Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) would like to provide an update to a fatal collision from Winston Churchill Boulevard, Erin. The deceased has been identified as Robert Ernest Gurr, 76-years-old of Erin.

On Oct. 21, 2022 at approximately 6:45 a.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a serious collision at the intersection of Winston Churchill Boulevard and Erin-Garfraxa Townline Road, north of Erin. Initial reports indicated that a pickup truck had left the roadway and that there were serious injuries.

Emergency service responded and the driver and passenger were transported to a local hospital. The passenger was pronounced deceased at hospital and the driver was treated for minor injuries.

The intersection was closed for West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) team reconstructionists to mid-day. The Office of the Chief Coroner was notified.
