A Guelph woman faces charges after trying to break into one south-end home before falling asleep on the deck of another.

On Thursday morning, a homeowner in the area of Stone Road East and Gordon Street discovered evidence someone tried to break into his home, including a damaged and removed screen on a rear window. The man went to inform his neighbour and found a woman sleeping on the deck.

Officers arrived and arrested the female. A search incident to arrest revealed a small amount of suspected crystal methamphetamine. A 31-year-old Guelph woman is charged with break and enter, possessing a controlled substance and breach of probation. She was held for a bail hearing Friday.
