WELLINGTON COUNTY — Two experienced mayors have declared their intention to seek the county warden position.

At the Wellington County meeting just days after the election, all council members as well as Warden Kelly Linton took a moment to make a final comment for the term. At this point both Lennox and Davidson announced their intent to pursue the warden position.

“I will say that I will be running for the position of warden in this next term of council, thank you,” Davidson said.

“And in terms of my intentions going forward, I will be throwing my name in the hat to run for warden. I think as all of you know, I wanted to do that earlier. But due to circumstances, this is the time I am now looking to assume that role with your support,” Lennox said.

The warden’s inaugural meeting will be held on Nov. 25, where a vote will take place to decide who will be the next warden of Wellington County.

The departing warden was Kelly Linton, the Township of Centre Wellington mayor during the previous term. Linton did not run again.
